What we do
LifeSense Diabetes Management Partners assists people living with diabetes to manage their diabetes on a daily basis. Living with diabetes is challenging, and often people are overwhelmed with the amount of information they need to process, and the daily tasks that they need to perform, in order to control their diabetes.
LifeSense Diabetes Management Partners has experienced nurse educators and case managers who are able to answer your questions and queries, give you advice on how and when to take your medication, how to store your medication, side effects and interactions with other medications that you could be taking along with your diabetes medication, and tips and encouragement in healthy living.
The golden rule is to remember that no question is ever an irrelevant question, if it’s bothering you it’s important to us. Ask us so that we can assist you.
Living with diabetes should be part of your life, and should not consume your life. You and your family should enjoy life to the fullest.
Things to remember
- Try and find out as much as you can about your condition. Dr Elliot P Joslin said: “The diabetic who knows the most lives the longest”
- There is no such thing as a “Diabetic Diet”, it is merely a healthy eating plan, and one that everyone should be following
- Keep moving: Being mobile and exercising is not only good for your diabetes, but it’s good for your overall health and well-being
- Keep taking your medication and “know your numbers”
- Being compliant with your medication ensures that your blood glucose levels are being managed
- Knowing your numbers (blood glucose and HbA1c) gives you an idea on how well you are doing
- Get your family and friends to support you, a problem shared is a problem halved.
